Seems to be quite a craze for them on flickr.

Info on how to do it here: http://www.flickr.com/groups/createyourownplanets/

I am working on one of Llandudno beach at the moment… once I settle on some decent stitching software.I think these would make great record covers!

Cornflex – panoramic photography

Friday, March 20th, 2009

I worked for a while in panoramic photography… at the time using a variety of technologies: specialised cameras, Macromedia Director, iShell, QuickTime VR etc. So it’s nice to see the techniques moving on.

This is very cool:

and now i see google has adopted something similar for the streetView stuff?

And yes, of course I’ve found my house, looked around for myself (not there) and car (not there either). Haven’t you?

A case for your banana

Tuesday, May 20th, 2008

OK, so the picnics and days out season is here. We had a lovely Sunday afternoon out with the bikes around Lochwinnoch.

But I spotted one picnicker with an unusual object. He seemed to have a case for his banana. Being the geek I am,the first thing I did arriving home was to look up on the web. Sure enough: http://www.bananaguard.co.uk/

It stops your banana going all squishy when you take it for a day out. It even has holes down the side to… I dunno… allow your banana to breathe probably.

I believe the idea comes from Japan (what a surprise!) where you can – inevitably – get Hello Kitty ones. And the like.
